If you're new to Steal A Brainrot, the whole system can be confusing. The game revolves entirely around collecting these items called "Brainrots," but what are they, how do you get them, and what do all those icons mean? As a player who's been around, here’s a straightforward breakdown of how things actually work.
What Exactly Are Brainrots? In simple terms, Brainrots are the collectibles you defend in your base and try to steal from others. They are the core of the game's progression and economy. Most players treat them as both a status symbol and a way to generate in-game currency. The game files actually refer to them as "Animals," but everyone calls them Brainrots. How Do You Get Brainrots? There are several ways, and each method usually leaves a permanent mark on the Brainrot in the form of a "Signifier" icon. Here’s what those icons mean in practice: Admin Abuse (AA): These are essentially developer-only items. In general, you cannot obtain these through normal gameplay. They exist in the game's index but are reserved for the admin, SpyderSammy. Event (EE): These were available for a limited time during a specific event. If you missed the event, your only option now is to trade for one or steal it from another player's base. Lucky Block (LBB): These drop exclusively from Lucky Blocks. When one spawns from a block (except Mythic or Festive blocks), its name is announced in the server chat, alerting everyone. Limited Quantity (LQ): The development team predetermined a fixed number of these to exist. Once all are found, no more will enter the game, making them inherently rare. Machine (MB): These are obtained from specific machines in the game. It’s a straightforward grind—use the machine and hope for the drop. Recognized (RB): This is a community-driven signifier. It means players collectively agree this Brainrot has higher value or prestige than others, often due to rarity or demand. Robux Purchasable (RP): These were once available for purchase directly with Robux. They are no longer for sale, so they circulate only through trading and stealing. Ritual (RLB): These require completing specific rituals in the game. It’s usually a more involved process than just opening a block. Requires Third-Party Purchase (DLC): These needed a purchase outside of Roblox, with real USD. Their supply is limited to players who made that initial purchase. What Are the Rarity Tiers? Brainrots are sorted by rarity, which generally indicates their power and value. From most common to most rare, the tiers are: Common, Rare, Epic, Legendary, Mythic, Secret, OG, and Brainrot God. "Miscellaneous" is also a category for ones that don't fit neatly. Higher rarity usually means a higher currency multiplier for your base. However, there’s an exception: the Sleepy Trait, which halves a Brainrot’s multiplier, is widely considered the worst trait to get. What Are Carpet and Non-Carpet Spawns? You'll see Brainrots listed under these two categories. "Carpet Spawns" typically refer to Brainrots that can naturally appear on the carpet in your base or be found that way. "Non-Carpet Spawns" are those you must obtain through the specific methods listed above (like Machines, Events, or Rituals) and won't just randomly show up. What Are the Most Important Mechanics to Know? Based on common player experience, here are the key facts: OG Brainrots Are Special: When an OG Brainrot (like Strawberry Elephant, Skibidi Toilet, or Meowl) spawns, it starts a special server-wide event and grants that player a unique base skin. Important: You only keep the skin as long as that Brainrot is in your base. If it gets stolen, you lose the skin. Announcements and Stealth Spawns: When most valuable Brainrots spawn from a Lucky Block, it's announced in chat. However, OG and Brainrot God spawns are not announced (except for the Brainrot God Lucky Block itself). This makes finding one in your base a surprise. The "Impossible" Brainrots: Some, like Raccooni Jandelini, are listed in the index but are impossible to obtain through normal gameplay now. The only way to get one is via trading or stealing it from a player who already has it. Similarly, Admin rarity Brainrots are unobtainable for regular players. Traits and Mutations: These modify your Brainrot. Most traits are beneficial and increase its money-making ability. Always check for traits when trading, as a good trait can significantly increase value. Community Consensus on the Best: As of late 2025, the community generally considers Strawberry Elephant to be the best obtainable Brainrot in the game. This excludes admin-exclusive items like Developini Braziliaspidini and Kings Coleslaw. Final Tips for Players Treat your first Brainrots as a learning experience. Don't get too attached to common ones. The game's real economy is built around trading and stealing the rarer, signed (with icons) Brainrots. Always check a Brainrot's signifiers in the index—they tell its history and, by extension, its value. And remember, the most powerful asset is knowledge of how these systems work in practice.
