If you're deep into Diablo 4 Season 12, you've probably felt how weirdly rare Stygian Stones can be when you actually need them. One minute you're stacked on everything else, the next you're staring at your Tormented boss plan and realizing you're short on the stuff that matters. Before you even queue up another run, it helps to treat Diablo 4 Boss materials like a checklist item: you're not "playing more," you're farming smarter, and that means living in endgame loops that roll the right rewards without dragging.

Pick Content That Actually Rolls Stones
Overworld mobs and low-tier activities aren't the play. They're fine for leveling, but they don't respect your time once you're chasing Tormented summons. Your best shots come from high-end rotations: high-tier Nightmare Dungeons, your repeatable Pit clears, and whatever seasonal caches or weekly reward tracks are active. If your session starts with "let's just wander," you'll feel it in your stash. Start with purpose, stick to it, and you'll notice the drop pressure ease up.

Nightmare Dungeons: Speed Beats Ego
Nightmare Dungeons are still the most reliable rhythm, but only if you stop treating every key like a trophy. Aim for Tier 70+ if your build can chew through it fast. If it can't, don't force it. People waste loads of time "pushing" in a dungeon that takes 15–20 minutes, then wonder why stones feel impossible. You want tight layouts, good density, and minimal backtracking. If the map feels like a hike, salvage it and move on. Runs per hour is the whole game here, not the number on the sigil.

The Pit: Find Your Farming Tier
The Pit is the same story, just louder. High tiers look great on a screenshot, but they're brutal for material farming if you're barely beating the timer. Pick a tier you can clear cleanly, over and over, with no drama. Then lock it in. If you're constantly resetting because you died or the clear was too slow, that's not "challenging," it's just bad ROI. Group play helps a ton too. A steady squad melts packs faster, keeps momentum, and turns boring grind into quick loops you can actually stick with.

Build For Movement, Not Boss Flex
For stone farming, don't gear like you're trying to win a single-target duel. Gear like you're sprinting through a crowded room. Movement speed, cooldown reduction, and wide AoE matter more than perfect boss DPS. Cut anything that forces you to stop and aim forever. Also, check seasonal objectives every time you log in. Those weekly tasks and event caches can quietly fill in your boss mats without extra effort. And if you'd rather skip some of the slow buildup, plenty of players use u4gm to buy game currency or items so they can focus on the content they actually enjoy instead of running the same loop all night.
